On behalf of all the builders out there, we need to remember that there is nothing perfect about a house. Have you ever heard of human ๐Ÿงโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿงerrors? Well, guess what? Humans are building your house! Even if robots built (or printed) your house, guess who programmed the robot? Humans. ๐Ÿ˜‚

One of my favorite parts of the process is the blue tape walk-through before settlement. This often occurs in the 1 to 2 weeks before closing when you walk through your new home with your agent and your builder and your blue tape any blemishes or errors that they fix before settlement. This is a great time to ask questions and tackle areas of concern. This is a personal favorite because I have no skin in the game and can be as brutal as possible - tape all the things! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (donโ€™t freak out builders, within reason of course!!)

Blue tape walk-throughs are key to identifying issues with your new home before settlement. Make sure to do one 1-2 weeks before closing so that any problems can be fixed! A blue tape walk-through is when you go through your new home with a contractor and look for any final touch-ups that need to be made before you move in. This is different from a final inspection, which is done by the city or county. blue tape walk-throughs are essential because they help you catch any last-minute problems that could delay your settlement date. Make sure to do one so you can move into your new home as soon as possible!
